Cerebration 2010 - Asia's Global Business Challenge

Three leading organizations with unique business challenges seeking innovative expansion plans! One common mission: to tap the best MBA talent of the world. Welcome to the Largest Business Plan Competition in the world...

Welcome to Cerebration 2010!

With close to 500 registrations from over 115 Universities and over 30 different countries, Cerebration 2009 was a remarkable achievement by the MBA students of NUS Business School. During the journey that spanned over 8 months, the team of Cerebration 2009 demonstrated tremendous organizational skills to make Cerebration a memorable event for all the stakeholders - the participants, sponsors, judges, dignitaries and the entire NUS MBA cohort.

Cerebration has built a reputation for itself in the business school community, the world over and is now looked upon as a benchmark for all such events around the world. In its sixth year since inception, Cerebration now aims to elevate itself to the next higher orbit.

This year, the case studies written for three growing Global as well as Asian organizations across different and dynamic industries provide our participants unique and exciting cases to design and develop their expansion, growth and operational strategies.

We require you to choose one of the three real life case studies of leading organizations and draw upon your knowledge, experience and business acumen in order to develop an actionable business plan that can be used by your case company to address its business challenges. Ideally, we would like you to select and focus on one target market (Country) for entry/expansion strategies. We encourage you to participate in this business case competition with the same kind of diligence that you would use if you were to actually offer advisory services to this company.

The cases profile the strategic, operational, human and financial aspects of the company and look to give the participating teams a comprehensive understanding of the organization. While the focus of these cases will remain on entry/expansion in new markets, each case study could also highlight multiple issues that need to be carefully considered by the participating teams.

It is important to note that the solution suggested by your team should be able to actually add value to the company's existing position. The business plan should account for the current resources held by the company and focus heavily on financial feasibility. Cerebration offers you absolute flexibility to suggest product expansion strategies along with market expansion, if deemed necessary.

The competition places significant premium on strategic thinking that each team would bring along as it is, in fact, a real life case study. We seek to enforce this through a well-designed evaluation process. The three-stage evaluation process that includes detailed feedback from the judges is a guided approach to bring out the best in you and align your output to the case sponsor's expectations.

The semi-finals and finals provide an opportunity to the top teams to enjoy an all-expenses paid trip to Singapore where they will present their findings and business plans to the top management of their chosen company, in addition to a panel of leading industry experts.

We welcome you to Cerebration 2010 and wish you the very best of luck in this biggest battle of minds, matter and mettle!

Best Regards,
